Introduction
Although investing in early childhood development (ECD) may seem obvious for economic development, in practice policy often lacks this foresight. Currently, 250 million children in developing countries are at risk of not reaching their development potential. Low-cost investments in health and education, however, can go a long way in helping close that gap. In the world of ECD interventions, programs follow an approach that is either mother-focused or community-based, which differ mostly in their saliency.
